My name is Ashley and I am a 23 year old blind college student just trying to find my place in the world. I write alot about my daily life experiences related to blindness and mental health issues and dealing with the ignorant, the rude, the clueless and those who just don't know any better. I use this journal to track the progression and/or digression of my depression and eating disorders, so I can see in what ways I am changing. Most of my entries are just about the happenings in my life along with a few other random things. I also talk about my family, and how hard it was to lose my mom to suicide on October 16th, 2004.

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
